There are many reasons for jumping into solar. Some do it for the ROI, and that is great, but there is no way to quantify the benefit that comes from feeling self sufficient. I would love to join the club of cord cutters, those lucky few who are able to divorce themselves completely from the power company and their monthly bills, but that requires a large investment to achieve. Still there is plenty of satisfaction that comes from the self sufficiency you get with a smaller system. Do you want to offset your reliance on the power company a little bit each day… We have systems for that. Do you want to add battery backup so that you can keep the power on even if we have a summer thunderstorm or a repeat of the snowmageddon that knocks out power for a couple of days… we can do that. What if we have a real SHTF event and the grid goes down for weeks or longer? How long will the meat in your freezer stay frozen? How long will the gas in your generator last? Even with a small solar system you will be able to keep your fridge and freezer running for several hours a day to preserve your food. With a larger system you can be the one eating popcorn and watching a movie in your air conditioned home while all of the neighbors are in the dark.
Whatever the level of self sufficiency you want, we can make it happen.
